Over time we grow our own brand of music. Most songwriters have the desire to share their work with others. We love those who lend an ear to our ‘masterpiece’. We serenade those who praise our composition and our final production. I believe most, if not all, songwriters have this inner desire that is often intense.

It is also more than just sound and tune. Songwriting springs from within a person and put that into a form that the world can listen and hopefully understand what we say.

Form, sound and words are the media which we express our inner self. A composition is a form of self-expression. It is also a form of actualization, in the language of psychology.

Sometimes, a song is not about being pleasant to the ear. Many times, it is about expressing our true emotion. Sadness and frustration are not pleasant but they are part of our matrix. Pain is not something we go after but we all experience it. Perhaps, pain makes us human. Expressing all these emotion and feelings may not be pleasant to the ear of the listener. It is however a part of us destined to be shared, if we dare to step out of self-sensitivity.
